Francis Confirmation I & II Program 2001-2002
This year we will be using a series entitled “CONNECT” for the Confirmation I program. The six part series will be presented in nine sessions along with the visiting lecturers. The candidates are encouraged to take the glossy handout home at the end of the session to review with their parents. Each session on this outline corresponds to a speaker or to the particular session being taught. The Confirmation II program consists of the speakers and nine classroom sessions, for a total of fifteen class weeks. The series used for this program is from Ligouri religious publishers. The candidates will be encouraged to return home with the glossy four-page handout, in order that they might explore their faith further with their parents/guardians. Given the structure of the shortened class sessions it is important that the candidates attend all the sessions. Candidates who have been absent from 3 sessions are presumed to have withdrawn from the program. After two excused absences the parents of the candidate will be contacted and will need to attend a meeting with the candidate and the program director. Excused absences are understood to mean illness, a death in the family, or a serious family emergency. Please call in advance, or that day and leave a detailed message on the religious education office phone line (978) 453-4460. Birthdays, parties, ski-weekends, sporting events, musical recitals and other social outings do not constitute legitimate reasons to neglect the obligation to prepare for this important spiritual stage in your Catholic life.
