Sacrament of Confirmation: “Through the sacrament of Confirmation, those who have been born anew in Baptism receive the inexpressible Gift, the Holy Spirit himself, by which ‘they are endowed…with special strength.’ Moreover, having received the character of this sacrament, they are bound more intimately to the Church’ and ‘they are more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith both by word and be deed as true witnesses of Christ.’ Finally, Confirmation is so closely linked with the Holy Eucharist that the faithful, after being signed by holy Baptism and Confirmation, are incorporated fully into the body of Christ by participation in the Eucharist.”

At a time when teenagers are being forced to make so many choices, they need to see Jesus as someone who Himself often turned to prayer. They need to understand that Jesus is there, through the Church, to help make decisions. They need to see Jesus as real presence in their lives. As their guardians we need to provide them with time for prayer, and foster a great love and devotion for the celebration of the Most Holy Eucharist in the Sunday Mass.

January and February 2002 Sunday evenings 5:00-6:00 p.m. By appointment	Candidates Confirmation I Interview with Father Carmichael Second Interview of Confirmation II Candidates (if necessary)
Wednesday evening, April 17^th, 7:00 PM	Confirmation Practice (Candidate and Sponsor need to attend – pick up gown)
Thursday evening, April 25^th, 2002 7:00 PM Cameras and video excluded during the Mass; pictures can be taken with the Bishop afterward.	Sacrament of Confirmation Most Rev. Emilio Simeon Allue SDB, Celebrant Those to be Confirmed are to assemble in the hall at 6:00 PM
