If we listened to You from the start, we wouldn't have lived the pain
And when we were finally coming apart, You led us to believe again
In a world that often makes you feel like you're going to go insane
Our Jesus leads us always out of the rain.

Back in the days when St. Francis lived, he chose his path to peace
Still his spirit lives in a Dracut church, both in laity and priests
leading them to their eternal home and the never-ending feast
Where the Spirit of God has certainly been released.

St. Francis, God asked you to rebuild his Church
Make it all it was meant to be, the object of every soul's lifelong search
Give the humble and the poor and spirit refuge from the strife
In the Father's house where He offers eternal life.

Blessed are those who are poor in Christ, for the kingdom of God is theirs
and blest are those who weep and mourn, they'll get comfort from a God Who cares
And blest are they who are persecuted forgetting all their fears
everlasting joy will replace their pain and tears.
