The Question of the Week
August 26th, 2007

After hearing, reading and reflecting on this Sunday’s readings…

When did you do something good for someone this past week without being asked?

Discuss it over a family dinner!
Talk on your way to the mall!
Make it a weekly household tradition!

 Saint Vincent de Paul

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “Sell your belongings and give alms.  Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven that no thief can reach nor moth can destroy”.  We ask your prayers for those we serve through our chapter of St. Vincent de Paul, that we may provide them not only with physical needs, but spiritual nourishment as well.

SMART Program

For kids and the caregivers who love them!

Our summer program is coming to an end!  Each summer, we meet at a different location out and about in our community every Wednesday.  We’ll end our summer of fun on Wednesday, August 29th at 10am at Veterans Memorial Park in Dracut for an end-of-summer Field Day!  Event will be held in the St. Francis Parish Hall in case of rain.  Bring a lunch and a bathing suit for the water park!  Caregivers of children any age are welcome to attend.  For more information, contact Jessica Smith in the Parish Office in the evenings at 978-452-6611.

St. Francis Annual Church Picnic

It’s that time of year again!  Join us on Sunday, September 23rd beginning with the 10am Mass.  Our picnic this year will include delicious food, great music and excellent fellowship with other parishioners!  Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for children age 6 and older.  Tickets will be available after all weekend Masses during the weekends of September 8th and September 15th as well as in the Parish Office.  See you there!

Calling all volunteers!

The Parish Picnic committee is seeking people to help with ticket sales, set-up, food preparation, serving and other tasks.  If you are interested, please contact Bill and Kristin McCauley at (978) 458-2995 or via e-mail at dracut_mccauley4@comcast.net or through the Parish Office.
